BaselArea is delighted to announce the start of production by Comar at the Infrapark Baselland
With the support of BaselArea, the South African company Comar Chemie AG from Cape Town has found a European production site at the Infrapark Baselland. BaselArea also arranged a suitable location at the Infrapark Baselland for the production plant of PanGas, which started operations last year.
With tomorrow's opening ceremony, Comar is inaugurating an ultramodern plant for special chemicals at the Infrapark Baselland in Muttenz. The company will create around 30 jobs. Amongst other things, Comar produces catalysts from rare earths for the manufacture of synthetic rubber. The special property of this material means that car tyres made with this rubber have a minimal rolling resistance, thereby reducing the CO2 emissions of cars.
PanGas, too, has found the right location at the Infrapark Baselland thanks to BaselArea. Their production plant for industrial and medical gas started operations last year. The investment volume amounted to around CHF 68 million. PanGas belongs to Germany's Linde Group.
Iris Welten, CEO of BaselArea, says: ” With the establishment of PanGas and Comar, we are delighted to have made a contribution to the role of Baselland as a centre for chemicals.”
