Ground-breaking ceremony for Venky’s production plant in the Jura
Blazing sunshine provided an auspicious backdrop to the ground-breaking ceremony for Venky’s production facility for poultry vaccines on Thursday, 24 March, in the village of Bassecourt, Canton Jura. Venky’s is a subsidiary of the Indian VH Group, the leading company in the Indian poultry industry.
In his address, Devidutt Allikal, Resident Director Switzerland, Venky’s, thanked those present for their great support in this project. It was thanks to their commitment that the construction can now be started after a short planning phase. The ultramodern facility is designed to start production in the second half of 2012 and will create up to 35 jobs in the first year.
The guests included Thierry Bregnard, CEO of the Office of Economic Affairs for Canton Jura, Françoise Cattin, Mayor of Bassecourt, Sheena Bethell and Fabio Speciale from BaselArea and also Hans-Peter Schaller from Bideco.
