Switzerland the most competitive economy in the world

Switzerland is the most competitive country in the world. In the Competitiveness Report of the World Economic Forum (WEF) the experts are full of praise and put Switzerland right at the top as they did last year.

The country is characterized by outstanding innovativeness and has the best research facilities in the world, write the WEF economists. The authors of the report also emphasize the role of the authorities and institutions, which they feel are among the most efficient and transparent in the world.
In second and third place come Sweden and Singapore in that order. The USA meanwhile has fallen back two places and is now fourth.
