Preparing the ground for the future
The Basel region is investing in infrastructure and in so doing is preparing the ground for future development. The current expansion of the transportation infrastructure includes the extension of freight capacity at Basel-Mulhouse airport, modernization of the Rhine port, extension of trade fair infrastructure, expansion of the expressway network as well as that of the rail network for European high-speed trains. Throughout the region, new offices, laboratories and industrial buildings are springing up. As well as massive investment by multinational companies such as Novartis and Roche, major projects are creating space for every kind of company.
