Stücki Business Park, Basel
The Basel real estate company Tivona is building a science park in Basel Kleinhüningen intended for companies specializing in life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and nanotechnology as well as research, development and production, in general.
The 35,000 m2 prestige project is 233 meters long and 40 meters high and is located within sight of international transportation routes. Kleinhüningen is an important transportation node within the region as it is located at the intersection of German, Swiss and French motorways.
The unusual length of the building will be underlined by the dynamically modeled topographical surface of the façade that will lend the construction an unmistakable identity. The six floors above ground (each around 900 m2) are swathed in a finely woven, irregular membrane made of woven fiber glass.
Depending on the angle, the building shows either an irregularly striped framework or a light and airy gown whose irregularities give rise to intricate play of light and shadow. This unmistakable façade is also the signature of this unique building.
