100 Cleantech Jobs Created by the Busch Group in Porrentruy in 5 Years

The German group Busch, which has been present in the Porrentruy area for some thirty years, has decided to launch a new clean technology business (cleantech), and in the process the company will be creating some one hundred jobs and investing several tens of millions of Swiss francs within a period of five years. This project is supported by the Economic Promotion Office of the Jura region.

Being well-established in the Porrentruy area for over three decades, the Busch group has now formed a new company, Busch Clean Air SA, and has chosen Porrentruy as its base. The company aims to have the new manufacturing site up and running in the course of 2011. Representatives of the family and of the Busch group announced this news today.
With effect from 2012, Busch Clean Air SA will be producing a new generation of high tech compressors to be fitted to certain diesel engine exhaust systems, in order to comply with the new European and American legislation coming into force in 2011. The purpose of this legislation is to significantly reduce pollution generated by emissions from ‘off-road’ vehicles, i.e. mobile site equipment, marine engines and stationary equipment.

Over the next 5 years, Busch Clean Air SA is planning to invest several tens of millions of Swiss francs. The company is aiming to recruit approximately 40 people by 2012. In these coming 5 years, the future manufacturing site could have a 100-strong workforce, some of whom specially qualified staff, i.e. 15 university graduates or college trained technicians. With its current 415-strong workforce in Ajoie, the Busch group will thus become one of the top industrial employers in the Jura region.
